The degrees in Software Engineering, Information Security, and Computing Science are all ICT areas. Students learn, unlearn, and relearn to prepare themselves for contributions to better business/organisation outcomes. SIT Infocomm Technology (ICT) cluster continues to proactively engage industry to keep relevance with the changing ICT needs. In turn, SIT students and graduates are very well sought-after, creating a virtuous cycle of good supply to industry.

Throughout my education at SIT, I was constantly challenged to come up with innovative solutions to solve practical problems. The fast-paced nature of my programme and the various hands-on learning opportunities, such as the Integrated Work Study Programme, enabled me to transit smoothly into the workforce.

One of the key highlights of SIT’s ICT programme is the Integrated Work Study Programme, a one-year work attachment that students have to undertake in their final year. DBS has found this programme meaningful as it is longer than the average internship, and thus provided more time for students to pick up industry-relevant skills and exposure. The students we’ve welcomed from SIT are technically sound, team players, and able to collaborate with a wide variety of stakeholders.

I am thankful for my professors and course-mates, who were willing to share their knowledge and provide guidance when I needed help in my assignments. I love the culture in SIT, where we are always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone who needs it!
