What motivated you to join the programme?
As someone who aspires to work in the allied health industry, I always sought to help those who need it, either in their studies, or school life. Sometimes, I offer guidance and sometimes I have conversations about topics that matter.
I saw the SITizen Ambassadors Programme as a key platform to reach out to the larger SIT community and to grow on a personal level. I made a decision to join after listening to the personal experiences of a senior ambassador. After hearing about the senior’s experiences, I was convinced about the potential growth that the SITizen Ambassador Programme can provide me.
What was your most memorable moment as a SITizen Ambassador?
The most memorable moment for me was when I was tasked to be the moderator for a dialogue involving Dr Janil Puthucheary, Senior Minister of State for Communications and Information, and Ministry of Health. Aside from the significance of the event, I appreciated the trust that the staff and the committee had for me. It also meant a lot to me when ambassadors in the audience gave me words of support and encouragement. I looked forward to having this support system when I became a SITizen Ambassador, and it is a system I wish to continue being a part of.
What does being a SITizen Ambassador mean to you even beyond your time in SIT as a student?
Although my journey with SIT and my role as an Ambassador will end, I will keep the hard and heart skills acquired over the years. These skills will help me enhance my interactions and experiences with others.
The ‘heart’ skills will keep me grounded and tuned in to the needs of those around me, while the ‘hard’ skills will provide me with a well-grounded foundation to perform my duties and achieve my goals.
