Course Overview
SDU (SISO) – Pending approval
PDU (PEB) – Pending approval
Pressure vessels and other industrial equipment require relief devices for overpressure protection in preventing severe personnel injuries, costly mechanical damage and environmental hazards.
Pressure-Relieving and Depressuring Systems are essential across various industries including petrochemical facilities, gas plant, liquefied natural gas (LNG) facilities and oil and gas production facilities. This course delves into the understanding of pressure relief systems and their fundamental principles. Learners will discover methods for selecting and sizing appropriate relief devices, such as pressure safety valves, ensuring optimal safety and functionality.
The course introduces detailed guidelines for relief system evaluation, including identifying overpressure scenarios and determining required relief device rates and capacity. It also covers flare system calculations such as flare thermal radiation zone and purge gas rates. Additionally, learners will gain insights into the operations and maintenance of flare system equipment, as well as an understanding of zero flare principles.
