SIT plays an integral role in bridging academia and industry. This is possible because of our close ties with individuals, namely, students, alumni, and staff; as well as with industry partners with whom we co-create innovations and co-develop talent pipelines. These relationships make learning seamless for our students, whether they are working professionals or fresh out of school.
This year’s Annual Report is centred around the theme ‘Individuals and Industry at the Heart of SIT’, which encapsulates the importance of strengthening our ties with individuals, and our links with the industry and community to fulfil the mission of the University.
The cover features SIT graduate Yu Pengfei, who benefitted from the University’s applied learning pedagogy, allowing him to be well-prepared for the cybersecurity industry.
SIT graduate Jana Chan credits her smooth transition into her profession as an occupational therapist to SIT’s applied learning approach. The University’s close ties with industry gave her the exposure she needed to be truly ready for the industry.

Mr Jonathan Goh, 41, is pursuing his dream and upgrading himself with a Bachelor of Engineering with Honours in Information and Communications Technology (Information Security) through SIT’s Competency-Based Workplace Learning (CBWL) pathway. This is a result of the collaboration between SIT and Ensign InfoSecurity, the largest, pure-play end-to-end cybersecurity service provider in Asia.
It is important for me as a supervisor to support Jonathan’s journey in pursuing a degree and his interest in lifelong learning. Through the CBWL pathway, he has shown much determination and resilience in pursuit of his personal and professional goals.
