About Course
Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) issues in electronic systems are critical both from a design and regulatory perspective.
With the ubiquitous adoption of wireless technologies as well as the increased functionality of present-day electronic systems, EMI/EMC-related effects and their mitigation techniques are becoming more critical for the co-existence and operation of high-frequency electronic devices. Taking EMC effects into consideration right at the design stage is crucial to successful EMC compliance and certifications, reducing significantly the time-to-market for such devices.
This intermediate-level, two-day course will introduce the fundamental concepts and theories behind various EMC phenomena related to radiated and conducted emission and immunity. Signal integrity in high-speed digital design as well as design techniques for grounding, shielding, and layout techniques in PCBs for improved EMI/EMC performance will be covered. This course will include relevant examples and case studies related to automotive EMC, where applicable.
To aid companies in transforming their capabilities through their human capital and support Singapore’s drive towards becoming a smart Nation, this course is mapped to the Singapore Economic Development Board’s Singapore Smart Industry Readiness Index:
- Dimension 7 - Shop Floor Connectivity
- Dimension 8 - Enterprise Connectivity
- Dimension 9 - Facility Connectivity
