Effective from AY2024/25 Trimester 2 (January 2025), the Postgraduate Certificate in Data Engineering and Smart Factory will be retired.

For existing learners, if you wish to receive the award of the existing Postgraduate Certificate in Data Engineering and Smart Factory, you must complete all remaining modules by the end of AY2024/25 Trimester 1 (December 2024).

This decision comes as part of our ongoing efforts to streamline our curriculum and provide the most relevant and impactful learning experiences to our students. The SIT Postgraduate Certificate in Data Engineering and Smart Factory (PGCert DESF) is designed to equip engineers for greater business competitiveness amidst the exponential growth in robotic automation, information and communication technologies.

The modules, jointly developed by the faculties in Engineering and Infocomm Technology, can be taken individually or stack towards a PGCert DESF. Each module is worth 6 credits.

Modules Available

Modules are stackable towards a Postgraduate Certificate in Data Engineering and Smart Factory. They can also be taken individually.

Candidates will be awarded an PGCert DESF if they pass 4 modules totalling 24 credits with a Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) of ≥ 2.5.

Prerequisites
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
  • Other candidates may be admitted on a case-by-case basis upon evaluation by the course director

Certificate and Assessment

A Certificate of Participation will be issued to participants who:

  • Attend at least 75% of the module; and
  • Undertake non-credit bearing assessment during the course

A Certificate of Attainment for each module will be issued to participants who:

  • Attend at least 75% of the module; and
  • Undertake and pass credit bearing assessment during the course
