The continuous expansion of the semiconductor industry in Singapore highlights the need for specialised courses in semiconductor manufacturing, to build a skilled workforce ready to meet industry demands. This will ensure Singapore remains competitive in the high-tech sector, driving both innovation and efficiency.

Designed to address significant skill gaps in semiconductor manufacturing, this micro-credential aims to prepare learners for advanced roles in the ever-evolving industry. Learners will delve deeply into Complementary metal–oxide–semiconductor (CMOS) technology, exploring its evolution and scaling trends. This includes the application of complex process integration methodologies for various semiconductor devices, including CMOS, memory, photonics, and MEMS.

This micro-credential also offers a comprehensive study of advanced fabrication techniques, metrology, and inspection tools. Learners will focus on rigorous process control, risk assessment, and yield management, preparing them to address real-world challenges in semiconductor production with a focus on improving quality, efficiency, and yield.

The above are competency units that constitute this micro-credential. Upon completion of the micro-credential, you will be able to:

  • Analyse the semiconductor manufacturing flow including advancement in material and fabrication technologies for nanoscale devices
  • Apply understanding of semiconductor manufacturing concepts, technologies, and tools to analyse manufacturing processes for their use, effectiveness, and relevance in the integrated process flow
  • Apply statistical process control, process optimisation, risk analysis and yield management methodologies for semiconductor manufacturing

Certificate and Assessment

A Specialist Certificate in Semiconductor Manufacturing and Process Control will be issued to learners who:

  • Attend at least 75% of the course and
  • Undertake and pass all credit bearing assessments
Assessment Plan
  • The learner will undertake a combination of written examinations and reports preparation
