Course Overview
Cloud computing plays a vital part in modern IT infrastructure, a paradigm shift that empowers business transformation and innovation. This specialised micro-credential covers essential knowledge in cloud computing as well as how to architect cloud solutions, handle large-scale data in the cloud, and implement security measures.
As a learner, you will first be equipped with fundamental knowledge and practical skills on cloud computing, including cloud service models, deployment methods and cloud application development.
You will then dive into the arena of cloud computing architecture and big data analytics tools and methods, where you will gain skills in cloud data storage, database, networking, auto scaling and load balancing, microservices, serverless architectures and more.
Lastly, you will gain proficiency in cloud security, encompassing key aspects such as cybersecurity technologies, roles and responsibilities, techniques for securing data (at rest and in transit), as well as industry best practices. You will then apply your newfound knowledge by designing and developing secure cloud services.
Integrating online and in-person delivery, the micro-credential offers various learning activities such as online or in-person lab sessions using Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud resources, quizzes for assessment and knowledge check, and hands-on projects on public cloud infrastructure. By the end of the course you will gain the competencies to design and construct cloud solutions with scalability, flexibility, robustness and security.
This micro-credential is part of the CSM Pathway in Applied Computing.
Who Should Attend
The micro-credential prepares learners for the following job roles:
- Digital, cyber and IT security architects, assessors, analysts, and engineers
- System, solution, infrastructure, and enterprise architects
- Technical leaders, program and project managers, middle management, and executives
Assumed Prior Knowledge
There is no specific assumed knowledge for this micro-credential. However, having at least one year of experience in computer architecture, operating systems and a general understanding of computing applications, web services, and interfaces is preferable.
What You Will Learn
This micro-credential is predominantly delivered through a competency-based education (CBE) approach where learners acquire and demonstrate mastery of knowledge and skills that are directly relevant to job functions. This prepares them to be industry-ready where they can apply their newly acquired competencies to their work.
