This module has an updated learning pathway that can now be stacked towards a Graduate Certificate in Process Safety Operations.

Process Safety Concepts is the first in a series of eight training modules specially designed to help people tasked with safety responsibilities gain the engineering and management expertise needed to operate a plant safely.

This practical 1-day module covers essential concepts on process safety management, the risks, as well as methodologies used to assess hazards.

Through this module, learners will gain the ability to identify process hazards commonly found in operating plants and field operations. They will also develop a deeper understanding of the effects and impacts of hazardous chemicals on people, equipment, and the environment. Learners will be introduced to common safeguards used to prevent loss-of-containment incidents, ensuring they are familiar with key protective measures in industrial settings. Additionally, they will explore effective methods for controlling and mitigating the severity of hazards, equipping them to contribute to a safer work environment
