The Silver Homes Initiative:
Caring for Our Community Together

fostering an environment
where they can live with dignity and comfort

At the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT), we’re honoured to be able to contribute to creating better living spaces for underprivileged and vulnerable seniors — fostering an environment where they can live with dignity and comfort.

As part of our 10 Acts for Good – a year-long community initiative to commemorate our 10 years as an autonomous university, we partnered with the Central Singapore Community Development Council (Central Singapore CDC) on their Silver Homes initiative. This volunteer-driven programme aims to create healthy, safe, and clean living spaces for disadvantaged seniors. Through these home improvement efforts, Silver Homes strives to enhance the mental and physical well-being of the seniors in our community.

Faced with
challenging home conditions,
over 53 SITizens and staff
came together to aid Silver Homes.

Faced with challenging home conditions such as hoarding, bedbug infestations, and general uncleanliness, over 53 SITizens and staff came together to aid Silver Homes.

With fresh coats of paint, thorough cleaning, and dedicated effort, they transformed the seniors' living spaces into brighter, more inviting homes, bringing warmth and joy to their lives.
