Teaching Foundation Programme (TFP)
The TFP is highly contextualised for all new academic staff teaching at SIT and covers core aspects of teaching and learning. Exemptions are given for academic staff who have two or more years of full-time teaching at other institutes of higher learning.
Upcoming sessions
Typically held in April, August and December.
New academic staff will automatically be enrolled and informed via email.
Programme Structure
TFP participants demonstrate two core competencies of lesson planning & delivery and designing an authentic assessment. While the workshops support the participants through concepts, examples and discussions, the demonstration of the competencies will require showcasing of actual work done and reflecting on feedback provided by educational developers.
Workshop 1: Lesson Planning & Delivery | Core Competency 1: Participants plan and deliver a lesson with elements of applied learning (e.g. learner-centredness, use of technology, blended resources) |
Workshop 2: Designing an Authentic Assessment | Core Competency 2: Participants design an authentic assessment task with consideration for Generative AI (including rubrics and communication to learners) |
