Course Overview
Mentoring plays a critical role in an employee’s professional and personal development, more so now given the new norms brought about by the pandemic and the high staff turnover volatility.
The rise of hybrid and remote work arrangements also poses bigger challenges to mentors and leaders to effectively guide, coach, and connect with those they are leading.
This course is designed to provide the tools and approaches of effective mentoring to those who are in a position where they have to lead, guide, and mentor. Learning how to effectively use these tools and apply them in various professional contexts is imperative. Skills to be taught include (but are not limited to) giving effective feedback, understanding verbal and non-verbal cues, and recognising limitations and strengths. These soft skills would be relevant to anyone in any organisation who wants to level up, review and refresh their mentoring skills.
Mentoring during these challenging times requires us to re-look at the best practices and find ways to effectively engage, renewing perspectives where needed. Upskilling leaders in this aspect would benefit the development of the employees in the organisation. Developing a strong and healthy leadership pipeline starts with equipping them with the necessary skills to lead and mentor. Transformational and inclusive leadership is the cornerstone to remaining relevant and competent.
