This workshop focuses on the knowledge and skills supporting occupational therapy practice for cognitive-perceptual issues seen in persons with a range of neurological and psychiatric conditions.

It is also a continuation of the two-day inter-professional primer on cognitive rehabilitation.

The workshop aims to provide you with the knowledge and skills in occupational therapy centric cognitive-perceptual assessments, problem identification, goal setting, and intervention plans.

Additionally providing you with the necessary knowledge and skills in various areas related to cognitive and perceptual dysfunctions. These areas include occupation-focused models and approaches, assessments for cognitive and perceptual problems, problem identification and goal setting, and intervention strategies and plans.

Who Should Attend

  • Occupational therapists that are working or will work with adults with cognitive perceptual problems
Prerequisites

What You Will Learn

    Assessment Plan

    Assessment Type: Case Presentation
    Duration: 30 minutes
    Weightage: 100%

Description: Participants will need to develop an assessment and treatment plan for a patient with cognitive impairments, based on the knowledge and skills learnt from the training. They must highlight the assessment approaches, treatment goals, intervention plan, and treatment outcomes. Through this assessment, participants must demonstrate the ability to consolidate clinical knowledge with application principles.

Justification: Throughout the workshop, participants will be taught various cognitive rehabilitation approaches, assessments and intervention strategies. This assessment will allow them to consolidate their learning by going through the assessment and treatment processes, thereby demonstrating that they have understood and can apply the principles and skills learnt.
