Designed to cultivate specialty-specific leadership skills, this module equips learners with the knowledge, skills, and attitudes necessary for effective leadership and the implementation of sustainable change management strategies.
The aim is to prepare them to shape and manage evolving, complex, and diverse health and social care services.
Covering both leadership and change management, this module allows learners to explore the professionalism and future roles of rehabilitation nurses. Through a thorough examination of theories and empirical evidence, learners will develop a deep understanding of leadership and change management within rehabilitation settings.
They will also explore strategies to strengthen interprofessional collaboration and improve communication within care teams. The module will also emphasise the importance of advocacy frameworks when interacting with caregivers and support groups. By gaining an in-depth understanding, learners will develop a holistic perspective that highlights the crucial role of rehabilitation nursing.
This module is part of the Rehabilitation Nursing specalisation track in SIT’s Master of Health Sciences programme. Completing it offers a stackable option towards earning the Master of Health Sciences degree.
Who Should Attend
- Singapore Nursing Board (SNB)-registered nurses must have at least two years of work experience in nursing, of which at least one year must be in the relevant specialty field

- Diploma or Bachelor's related to Nursing

Professionalism and Future Role Development of Rehabilitation Nursing
- This topic focuses on the professionalism of rehabilitation nursing and the roles of rehabilitation nurses in clinical settings
Change Management Theories
- This topic describes the various change management theories and their application to clinical practice
Fostering Effective Interprofessional Collaboration
- This topic describes the strategies for effective interprofessional collaboration in clinical practice. Focus is placed on the importance of leadership roles in teamwork
Advocacy, Understanding Informal Caregivers, and Working with Support Groups
- This topic describes the impact of advocacy on patient care. There is an emphasis on supporting informal caregivers and working with families to create links to various support groups
Understanding Community Resources
- This topic aims to equip learners with a deeper understanding of community resources and applications for rehabilitation patients
Future Plans for Rehabilitation Nursing
- This topic enables learners to examine the future trends of rehabilitation nursing and its impact on the greater community and across the globe

Certificate and Assessment
A Certificate of Participation will be issued to participants who
- Attend at least 75% of the module
- Undertake non-credit bearing assessment during the module
A Certificate of Attainment will be issued to participants who
- Attend at least 75% of the module, and
- Candidates who pass the assessment criteria of the respective module will earn 6 credits, which can be stacked towards the Graduate Certificate in Rehabilitation Nursing
