Far East Hospitality Trust Bursary
The Far East Hospitality Trust Bursary was established to support financially disadvantaged and deserving undergraduates pursuing the full time Bachelor of Hospitality Business with Honours undergraduate degree programme offered by the Singapore Institute of Technology.
Eligibility:
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Are pursuing the full time Bachelor of Hospitality Business with Honours undergraduate degree programme offered by the Institute;
- Are Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents; and
- Have a monthly household Per Capita Income (PCI) of less than or equal to $1,800.
Tenure and Benefits of the Bursary:
- Each bursary is valued at $5,000 and is tenable for one academic year.
- The Bursary shall be used for the recipient’s educational expenses such as tuition fees, course materials, expenses for any overseas immersion programmes conducted by the Institute, and fees for other educational activities organised by the Institute.
- Recipients who have already been awarded the Bursary for one year of study may apply to receive and be considered for the Bursary in subsequent years, subject to the fulfilment of the selection criteria and the selection by the Selection Committee.
- Recipients of this Bursary may not accept other bursaries, but may accept other scholarships and awards.
About the Donor
The Bursary is made possible by a gift from FEO Hospitality Asset Management Pte Ltd, the REIT Manager of Far East Hospitality Trust. Listed on the Main Board of the Singapore Exchange in August 2012, Far East Hospitality Trust comprises Far East Hospitality Real Estate Investment Trust (“Far East H-REIT”) and Far East Hospitality Business Trust.
Far East H-REIT’s portfolio includes a mix of hotels and serviced residences, offering a significant number of rooms and units. This provides investors with the opportunity to invest in one of the largest hospitality asset portfolios in Singapore by asset value. Additionally, the portfolio features a range of commercial spaces across several properties. Far East H-REIT also holds a 30% interest in a joint venture with Far East Organization, which has developed three hotels (Village Hotel Sentosa, The Outpost Hotel, and The Barracks Hotel) and two retail blocks in Sentosa.
How To Apply
Matriculated students are to submit their Financial Aid application via the SIT Student Intranet - IN4SIT. Do note that students are to connect to the SIT VPN before accessing IN4SIT.
Applicants will need to complete and submit the online application form and upload all required supporting documents through the application portal by the given deadline.
