Kilowatts Engineering and Construction Bursary

The Kilowatts Engineering and Construction Bursary was established to support financially disadvantaged and deserving full-time undergraduates pursuing any of the following degree programmes namely Mechanical Engineering or Mechanical Design and Manufacturing Engineering, or Electrical and Electronic Engineering (via the Competency-based Stackable Micro-credential Pathway) offered by the Singapore Institute of Technology.

Eligibility:

Applicants must meet the following criteria:

  • Are full-time undergraduates at the Institute;
  • Are pursuing any of the following degree programmes namely (i) Mechanical Engineering or (ii) Mechanical Design and Manufacturing Engineering or (iii) Electrical and Electronic Engineering (via the Competency-based Stackable Micro-credential Pathway) offered by the Institute;
  • Are Singapore Citizens or Singapore Permanent Residents; and  
  • Have a monthly household Per Capita Income (PCI) of less than or equal to $1,800.

Tenure and Benefits of the Bursary:

  • Each bursary is valued at $5,000 and is tenable for one academic year.
  • The Bursary shall be used for the recipient’s educational expenses such as tuition fees, course materials, expenses for any overseas immersion programmes conducted by the Institute, and fees for other educational activities organised by the Institute.
  • Recipients who have already been awarded the Bursary for one year of study may apply to receive and be considered for the Bursary in subsequent years, subject to the fulfilment of the selection criteria and the selection by the Selection Committee.
  • Recipients of this Bursary may accept other bursaries, scholarships, grants or awards concurrently.

The Bursary is made possible with a gift by Kilowatts Engineering and Construction Pte Ltd. Established since 1983, the company has evolved to become a leading Air-conditioning and Mechanical Ventilation (ACMV) System provider. They have built a fine portfolio of quality projects in public and private property developments such as SGH Elective Care Centre & National Dental Care (On-going), Woodlands Health Campus, Sengkang General Hospital, Khoo Teck Puat Hospital, National Environment Agency, Laboratory @ Biopolis, Parliament House Complex, Istana, Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School, Nanyang Technological University and Changi Prison.

    How To Apply

    Applications for Public Bursaries, Donated Bursaries & Scholarships will commence in July 2022. Do keep a look out for more information which will be sent to your SIT e-mail address.

    Matriculated students are to submit their Financial Aid application via the SIT Student Intranet - IN4SIT. Do note that students are to connect to the SIT VPN before accessing IN4SIT. 

    Applicants will need to complete and submit the online application form and upload all required supporting documents through the application portal by the given deadline.
