Lighthouse Club Singapore Study Grant
The Lighthouse Club Singapore Study Grant is open to students pursuing the full-time Bachelor of Engineering with Honours in Civil Engineering or Bachelor of Engineering with Honours in Sustainable Built Environment (SBE) undergraduate degree programmes offered by Singapore Institute of Technology.
Eligibility:
Applicants must meet the following criteria:
- Are pursuing the full-time Bachelor of Engineering with Honours in Civil Engineering or Bachelor of Engineering with Honours in Sustainable Built Environment (SBE) undergraduate degree programmes offered by the Institute;
- Are Singapore Citizens; and
- Have a monthly household Per Capita Income (PCI) of less than or equal to $2,500.
- Achieved good academic results.
- Achieved at least a pass in previous academic year.
Tenure and Benefits of the Bursary:
- Each Grant, valued at $5,000, and is applicable for one (1) academic year.
- The Grant shall be used for the Recipients' educational expenses such as tuition fees, course materials, expenses for any overseas immersion programmes conducted by the Institute, and fees for other educational activities organised by the Institute.
- Recipients who have already been awarded the Grant for one year of study may apply to receive and be considered for the Grant in a subsequent year of study, subject to the fulfilment of the above selection criteria, and with the recommendation of the Institute and the selection by the Selection Committee.
- The Recipients may accept other bursaries, scholarships, grants or awards concurrently in the same Academic Year.
About the Donor
The Grant is made possible by a gift from Lighthouse Club (Singapore). Established in the UK in 1956 and in Singapore in 2000, the Lighthouse Club has branches worldwide – in the Asia Pacific Region there are branches in Thailand, Hong Kong, Macau, Malaysia, Cambodia, Australia, The Philippines, Vietnam, and Singapore.
The Lighthouse Club aims to promote fellowship and co-operation amongst all members as well as to develop a Benevolent Fund that provides financial assistance to victims of construction industry-related accidents or illness and to victims’ dependents where a fatal accident has occurred. The Club also supports local students studying subjects related to construction industry and the built environments via various scholarships and book prizes.
How To Apply
Matriculated students are to submit their Financial Aid application via the SIT Student Intranet - IN4SIT. Do note that students are to connect to the SIT VPN before accessing IN4SIT.
Applicants will need to complete and submit the online application form and upload all required supporting documents through the application portal by the given deadline.
