About the Donor
Dr. Tsoi Wing Foo, a dedicated psychiatrist with over six decades of experience, has generously funded a bursary and scholarship program. Throughout his extensive career, Dr. Tsoi has served at various renowned institutions, including the former Woodbridge Hospital (now the Institute of Mental Health), the National University of Singapore, and in private practice.
Dr. Tsoi, a passionate advocate for education, taught at the National University of Singapore (NUS) for a quarter-century, concluding his tenure in 1994. In 1979, he was seconded from the public health sector to NUS to establish the Department of Psychological Medicine. Recognizing that a substantial portion of his career was devoted to undergraduate education, Dr. Tsoi has chosen to make a contribution to the Singapore Institute of Technology (SIT). This donation will fund scholarships and bursaries within SIT's Health and Social Sciences cluster, specifically targeting students enrolled in nursing and allied health programs.
Dr. Tsoi views this contribution as a strategic investment in the future of Singapore's healthcare system. By supporting the education of upcoming healthcare professionals, he aims to positively shape the landscape of medical care in the country for years to come.
