S.E.E.D.ing a Bright Future for the Digital Era
Endowed gift from AM Family Capital Foundation supports SIT’s S.E.E.D.-Digital space that is designed to promote digital literacy, cultivate skills development, and nurture a sense of community and collaboration

In appreciation of the AM Family Capital Foundation’s philanthropic leadership and endowed gift of S$500,000 to SIT, the university has named the innovative and transformative S.E.E.D.-Digital space, located within the Learning Hub in SIT’s future campus in Punggol, the AM Family Capital Foundation S.E.E.D.-Digital. In the interim, before SIT moves to Punggol where the permanent naming will reside, a Seminar Room @SIT Dover was named the AM Family Capital Foundation Seminar Room.
The naming ceremony was held at the Dover campus on 25 January 2024 and attended by SIT President Professor Chua Kee Chaing, Mr and Mrs Wu Ching-Hsin, Fund Owners, AM Family Capital Foundation, as well as representatives from the Foundation, the Community Foundation of Singapore, and SIT students, faculty and staff.
S.E.E.D.-Digital, which stands for the Space to Explore, Engage and Develop - Digital competencies, aims to promote digital literacy and skills development among students and academic staff, and foster a sense of community and collaboration at SIT.
Envisioned as a ‘living lab’ that integrates applied research and innovation for SIT and its partners, the Punggol campus is designed to provide SIT students with a dynamic environment that is catered for the digital era. The user-centric, open innovation ecosystem that actively invites people, industry and community to innovate and learn from the campus. Students will be exposed to leading-edge industry know-how through working on interdisciplinary projects, as well as test-bedding smart technologies in real-life environments.
The AM Family Capital Foundation has also made possible the AM Family Capital Foundation Bursary with a separate gift. This Bursary is open to financially disadvantaged undergraduates (Singaporean and Singapore Permanent Residents) at SIT pursuing a degree in InfoComm Technology or the Health and Social Sciences. Valued at $5,000 each, four bursaries will be awarded annually over three academic years, from AY 2024/25 onwards.
