The module will introduce the airport stakeholders and illustrate their inter-relationship to the students.  The students will learn the knowledge of airport operations in both airside and landside.  The airside includes ground handling in the apron and basic of airspace.  The landside will focus on the passenger terminal facilities and how the passenger experience and airport service quality will be enhanced.  The major source of non-aeronautical income and the provision of commercial facilities will be discussed while the students will also learn ways to evaluate the economic performance of an airport.  The module will also introduce the concept of capacity while the students need to apply strategies to handle airport peaks and delay.  The business continuity plan for uncertainties and disruptions situation will also be covered.  A macro perspective of the economic, political and social role of airports will also be discussed in this module.
