This module has an updated learning pathway that can now be stacked towards various Graduate Certificates and Graduate Diplomas under the Health and Social Sciences domain. These Graduate Certificates and Graduate Diplomas are also stackable towards SIT’s Master of Health Sciences.

Presented by various experts in the field, this module is designed to enable learners to explore and develop knowledge on age-related changes in physiological, physical, and mental aspects.

Common medical and surgical conditions, lifestyle behaviours and psychosocial factors associated with these changes will also be discussed.

The module will expose learners to various learning activities and assessment strategies tailored to meet the dynamic demands of the workplace, fostering enhanced service delivery and personal upskilling. These activities include keynote lectures, community engagement activities where applicable, tutorials, and more.

Additionally, learners will be able to demonstrate their acquired knowledge through an assessment comprising two key components:

  1. A community-based activity aimed at promoting health and/or fostering healthy ageing, and
  2. A literature review focusing on factors contributing to health challenges and disability within ageing populations.
