With an average life expectancy of 83 in 2015, Singapore has the third-highest life expectancy in the world. For healthcare providers, an ageing population is associated with many issues, among which are falls in older persons.

SINGAPORE (3 March 2017) - SITLEARN Professional Development organised its first healthcare symposium titled “Mobility, Balance & Falls in Older Adults”, with the aim of bringing together healthcare practitioners to share how falls can be reduced in older persons.
Held at SIT@Dover, the full-day symposium featured speakers from organisations such as New York’s Upstate Medical University, NUS Saw Swee Hock School of Public Health, Tan Tock Seng Hospital (TTSH), Singapore General Hospital (SGH), Age-Link Specialist Clinic, POWERUP-Whiterock Medco and SIT.
The symposium was attended by participants from 14 healthcare organisations in Singapore, and comprised nurses, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, pharmacists, therapist aides and medical social workers.
